Gastro Pop (BNM T26)- Updated review
Indica-heavy hybrid
E-beam irradiated
Lineage: Apples & Bananas × Grape Gasoline
Terpenes: Myrcene (60%), Linalool (11%), Caryophyllene (10%), Limonene (5%)
Liked this strain when I first tried it, but was a little dry. Couple of weeks in better conditions has made loads of difference. Medium-sized, fairly open buds, like Chapel of Love, just a bit smaller. Loads of trichomes, giving it a frosty look up close. Lots of greens: Light, dark, olive, khaki, billiard, racing….Lincoln? (is that a green?) The odd purple patch, and orange hairy goodness. It was a bit dry when it arrived but after a couple of weeks in glass + Boveda, it’s fresher, and smells/tastes noticeably better.
Anyone who’s tried rehydrated G Pop will immediately recognise that its fruit left too long on an orchard floor and jumped on by an oily mechanic in wellies. Tastes like eating the overripe fruit, in a trailer, attached to the oily mechanic’s tractor, as it pulls up a grassy 5:1 incline, running quite efficiently on red diesel.
It gives me a light, buzzy head high that doesn’t bring anxiety or a racing heart, then quickly punches in with a deep, relaxing body stone. Loads of myrcene, doing what it should. Linalool and caryophyllene adding to the calm. The limonene is definitely in the background but pretty much drowned out. .
Gastro Pop’s a good pick if you’re after something properly sedating. I’d reach for it if I wanted to chill and happily drift off to sleep, having just realised I’d walked around all day with my left b0ll0ck hanging out. This strain takes my cares away. Looks good, smells/tastes great (after a bit of work), and hits me heavy.
